Professor Cayuela is author of several important books on the history of Cuba-Spain relations in the nineteenth and early twentieth century: “Bahia de Ultramar” and, with Angel Bahamonde, “Hacer las Americas: elites hispanocubanas.” He has been awarded the Franklin Pease award for the best article published in the journal Colonial Latin American Review. His lecture will be in Spanish.
